Facing west across the Coffee River valley towards Anse Flamengo with its smaller coves of Celery Bay and Gordon Bay, and dominating the steep hillside from its grandstand position is the historic villa called Galera Point.  Designed and built in 1962 by Anthony C Lewis & Associates on part of a 6 acre freehold parcel, the house was from the start an object of keen interest thanks to the celebrity of its British owner, photographer Norman Parkinson.  Today the house remains almost as originally built with the exception of the kitchen which was modernized in 2004.
